The Field Relief Agency of Taiwan(FRA), hydrangea has served in rural areas of Cambodia for more than two decades, and saw many villages fail due to poor land, no irrigation system, and crops. In addition, the school lack of water resources, and the toilets are messy. Students must draw water from the streams at home or outside the school. Especially in the temples of countryside, only a few large water tanks store rainwater during the rainy season. Often, the raw water in the drinking water tank is directly, due to lack of funds to dig water wells and lack of water, these places in the dry season often leads to disease clusters. Therefore, assisting the remote dryland digging wells, supplying clean water to reduce environmental pollution, has become a top priority and a heavy task for FRA Taiwan since 2015.
In January 2016, FRA assisted the construction of the school and dug the first water well in Malai County's Yeaysam Village Primary School. After digging out the water source, the villagers rejoiced, and each family took turns queuing for water to go home every day, and even the school children would take a bucket of water home after class. This well brings a lot of convenience to this remote village. With the well and automatic water pump, not only the toilets are clean, but also a vegetable garden for each class to grow living green vegetables.A well is convenient for not only one child, but also a school, a temple, and a village. It creates an incredible life cycle. From the beginning until the end of 2023, we actively searched for donors and drove nearly eight hundred wells in the provinces of Banteaymeanchey , Battambang, Siem Reap ,and other places according to actual needs in Cambodia.
